Stay at home and whip yourself up a yummy gingerbread latte. It's my favorite thing to welcome the holiday season and cold winter months.
The good news is that it comes together in minutes, with minimal effort – which is important when morning coffee is involved! Learn how to create this popular seasonal drink in the comfort of your own home.
Why you'll love this recipe
This copycat recipe is the ultimate festive treat to get you in the holiday spirit!
- Easy recipe: Simply brew coffee or espresso, combine ingredients together, pour into your favorite mug, and enjoy.
- Versatile: Tweak the gingerbread coffee recipe to fit your preferences. Make it sweeter, spicy, and more or less strong by playing with the measurements.
- Cheaper: This copycat starbucks gingerbread latte uses common pantry ingredients so you can make this homemade version for a fraction of the cost.
- Vegan and gluten free: You would never know this is actually a vegan gingerbread latte with how creamy it is! If you can tolerate milk, feel free to use your favorite milk.
Ingredients
Making a warm and comforting gingerbread latte at home takes just a few minutes, and you don't even have to turn on your stovetop or plug in your blender. It has a classic gingerbread flavor and tastes like a hug in a mug! Here's what you need:
- Coffee: You can use strong coffee or a couple shots of espresso. I'm using a pour over coffee maker, but feel free to use a french press, keurig, or nespresso machine.
- Dairy free milk: Use milk of choice! I typically prefer oat milk, almond milk, or coconut milk.
- Molasses: You'll always find sweet molasses in a gingerbread cookie, so it's a must-have in this homemade latte.
- Maple syrup: This is used to add sweetness. As an alternative, you can substitute with brown sugar, agave nectar, or your go-to sweetener.
- Vanilla extract: Add a little bit of pure vanilla extract gives this latte added festive flavor.
- Spices: This latte uses a combination of ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and ground clove to give it that classic gingerbread flavor.
- Whipped cream: My coconut whipped cream is a fantastic addition!
- Gingerbread cookies: Garnish with cute gingerbread men cookies.

I bet your version is WAY better than Starbucks. It's definitely made with healthier ingredients. And that coffee maker looks perfect for my husband. That's how he usually makes his coffee, but he makes a contraption himself. I'll have to look into this.
